The cost for expanding Manchester United's stadium, Old Trafford, has been revealed.
Old Trafford is a ground filled with history |
Daily Mail writer, Mike Keegan, has revealed the cost and details of the two stadium revamp plans Manchester United could explore as the club's current owners seek new investors within the first quarter of 2023.
In April 2022, the company that took care of Tottenham Hotspur's stadium worries, Legends International and Populous were contacted by Manchester United for a new stadium construction.
This meant that, like Spurs, United will continue playing in Old Trafford while a new stadium will be constructed on club-owned land around the current stadium.

This option would cost £2billion, a figure that could scare away the club's potential buyers. Even the fans are not in tandem with this as they have built an atmosphere and a home at Old Trafford.
The other option, which suits the fans, is to renovate Old Trafford. This, according to reports, would cost over £1billion, and would be a plan focused on improving hospitality for fans.
Old Trafford is over 100 years old, and stands tall as one of the rich proponents of United and England's football history. As such, the rebuild plans would mean finding a temporary ground to play home games and an increase in the capacity of Old Trafford's current 74,000 figure.
The Glazers are looking for buyers for Manchester United |
Mike Keegan also reports that the decision on both plans will be put on hold as the club owners, the Glazer family are looking to sell the club.
There are reports of interested buyers in Middle East, Asia and America and the Glazers will invite formal bids by mid-February. There's also talk of interest from British billionaire, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
