Club Reject United First Advance for Maguire Replacement, Personal Terms Agreed

FC Bayern Munich has rejected Manchester United’s first advance for French defender, Benjamin Pavard, who has been slated to replace Harry Maguire amongst others on the list

The shortlist for Maguire's replacements all look like upgrades

That's according to Fabrizio Romano who revealed that Manchester United had contacted Benjamin Pavard’s camp with a verbal agreement in principle being agreed with the player. But the only holdup with the deal now seems to be with the two clubs.

Sources close to the negotiation process believe that Manchester United value the player at a fee less than Bayern’s asking price of €30M, with the player's contact situation playing a huge role.

United want to close the deal at a price list than that valuation, but it seems Bayern want to hold on for what they feel is a just value for the World Cup winner.

Pavard, on his part, has made his intention to not sign a contract known to the Bundesliga giants and has now accepted a proposal from United, amidst growing interest from Liverpool.

Pavard wants to come to Manchester

It seems the deal is only a matter of time as United are pushing to get a replacement for Harry Maguire, who is West Ham bound pending United’s search for his replacement. And Bayern are aware that Pavard isn't the only player on the list, although he seems to be the priority.

There's also talk of OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, who is very much interested in a move to Old Trafford, as well as Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, so Bayern would have to tread carefully with their negative feedback on the negotiations.

How much do you think would be a just fee for Benjamin Pavard?
