Recall that when Rashford pulled out from the Three Lions’ squad for the Euro 2024 Qualifiers, much to the distaste of England manager, Gareth Southgate, a lot of United fans were skeptical about his fitness—especially since the next match will be against a sturdy Newcastle side that will be looking to secure Champions League football, as well as draw revenge for United’s triumph over them in the Carabao Cup final.
But with the recent reports of their current season’s highest goalscorer, Marcus Rashford, being part of the team, the hopes of United’s fans on securing a win over Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have now been lifted.
Rashford is on course to become United’s first player to reach the 30-goal mark in a season since Van Persie in 2012/13 |
Marcus Rashford, who has 32 goal contributions in all competitions for Manchester United, has established himself as an integral part of Erik ten Haag’s team, which is why United are anxious to commit him to a new long-term contract ahead of the summer.
Rashford is among the list of Manchester United senior players (including David De Gea, Diogo Dalot, Fred, etc.) who are nearing the close of their contracts and based on his current form, it is clear that Manchester United will offer the 25-year-old a new improved contract to fend off interest from the likes of PSG and Real Madrid.
