Manchester United are interested in signing in-form Real Soceidad winger, Takefusa Kubo.
Erik ten Haag has had it wrong these first few games |
This season, Erik ten Haag and the United faithful have endured an underwhelming start to life. And while excuses can be made for the injured players, the under-performance of the available and the unavailability of the other fit ones need to be underlined.
Manchester United have won just 5 of their opening 11 matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding 19. They currently sit 10th in the Premier League table and last (4th) in their Champions League group—a testament to their poor conversion in front of the opposition goal as well as their inability to defend the little goals they score.

Most parts of their squad have been plagued by injuries, albeit with the exception of the right winger role. This is because while it can be argued that Amad Diallo has been injured since pre-season, legal issues and attitudinal/managerial problems have kept both Antony and Jadon Sancho away from the pitch; leaving the job to young Pellistri (who hasn't done much to keep the position) and ill-positioned Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, and Mason Mount.
But it must be said that even when available, both Sancho and Antony have failed to justify their big money signings.
Pellistri hasn't made the right wing his |
Now with Sancho closer than ever to a United exit, Antony’s inconsistency, Pellistri’s need for development, and Amad’s unavailability, United are now slated to be in the market for a right-winger, just over a year after spending extravagantly on Antony Dos Santos.
And one of the names on the list is La Liga’s Takefusa Kubo.
Kubo already has 7 goal contributions this season |
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils are interested in the Japanese international who has now scored five times and assisted twice in all competitions for Real Sociedad.
And although, the player is young with his contract at Real Sociedad running into 2027, he has already become a common name on the transfer lists of Europe’s elites.
It remains to be seen if United will win the race for his signature.
