Gabriela Cavallin’s lawyer, Vanessa Souza, has reportedly stopped working on the case her client filed against Man United winger, Antony Dos Santos, for ‘personal reasons’.
Antony was accused of domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriend |
Recall that Antony’s ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin came online a few months ago to publicly accuse the Brazilian winger of physical abuse, verbal abuse, threat, and bodily harm, whilst reporting him to the Sao Paulo Civil Police and Greater Manchester Police.
According to her story, she said that the winger had assaulted her on various occasions during their time in Brazil and Manchester—one of such occasions being on May 20, 2023; a day in which he featured for Manchester United against AFC Bournemouth.

As a result of this issue, Antony was recently granted an indefinite leave of absence to deal with the matter, as she had filed lawsuits against him in Brazil and Manchester.
The skillful Brazilian, on his part, has always denied these allegations and even granted an interview during his leave of absence whilst showing full cooperation with the authorities, as reiterated by Erik ten Haag.

Since then, he has returned to the United squad and featured in two games already for the Red Devils, and it now seems like the matter is coming to a close, following Cavallin’s recent statement that she'll be “back soon” for more discussions.
On Friday, the lawyer assisting Cavallin on the matter, Vanessa Souza, was reportedly quoted as having stepped away, citing ‘personal reasons’ to the Brazilian outlet, Metropoles, as the factor for the decision.
